What Is It?

Chiropractic is based on a simple philosophy: Helping the body to achieve it's inborn, natural potential to heal itself!  Your body continually strives to optimize your health and well-being. Chiropractic unleashes this innate ability to heal so your body can do what it is suppose to be doing!

Chiropractic does this by detecting and correcting the Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC).  VSC is a term used for misaligned vertebrae in your spine that interfere with the function of the spinal nerve roots that exit the spine.  This interference with the communication of nerve impulses from the brain to the various parts of the body can effect a whole range of functions. They can cause pain, affect your balance, cause poor posture, decrease resistance to disease and affect the health of any tissue or organ.  Vertebral subluxations prevent you from functioning at your best and may make you more prone to physical, emotional and chemical stress, leading to sickness and/or weakness.  Once this nerve interference is removed by a chiropractic spinal adjustment -- the body has the potential to heal itself.

Chiropractic is not based on the quick-cure, magic pill theory. Chiropractors do not "treat conditions" -- instead, they detect and correct a major cause of dis-ease or lack of body harmony: VSC.  They do this by taking your health history, performing a chiropractic examination, including x-rays, if necessary.  If the Doctor finds that you have a vertebral subluxation, he will give you a chiropractic spinal adjustment -- the application of a precise and gentle force to the vertebra that is misaligned. This permits normal nerve transmission which is needed for ultimate health!

Normal nerve function, free of vertebral interference, causes an increase in health and a decrease in pain!
